It is clear that AGW True Believers – whatever their motives may be – are not going to be talked down from their faith. We shouldn’t even want to try (see Michael Crichton below).
Like the fall of the dead and dying states of Old Europe and California cities falling down one by one like Dominoes – driven into bankruptcy by their cash-for-clunkers Leftist stonkernomics (to avoid going broke government workers in Scranton, PA will now be paid the minimum wage or $7.50 /hr.) — the Warmongers (those who have not headed to the UN exits by now) will go down to the end choking on their ‘hockey stick’ science like so much bad meat.
There is no sense trying to change their minds: reason and logic will never work. Arguing is futile: it is their greed that gives wings to the global warming hoax and scare tactics that they use to rob the productive. The Warmongers will never address their delusions and self-defeating nihilism so long as we are paying them to live in ignorance. If they refuse to provide no service to society other than to export their hypocrisy then they should learn to live within their means according to the value of the goods they want to deliver to those who are willing to pay for them.
“ Eden, the fall of man, the loss of grace, the coming doomsday—these are deeply held mythic structures. They are profoundly conservative beliefs. They may even be hard-wired in the brain, for all I know. I certainly don’t want to talk anybody out of them, as I don’t want to talk anybody out of a belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God who rose from the dead. But the reason I don’t want to talk anybody out of these beliefs is that I know that I can’t talk anybody out of them. These are not facts that can be argued. These are issues of faith. ~Crichton
The facts are simple to understand. The secular education industry, which is insulated from reality, morality and purpose and fascist to the core, has failed humanity. Ridiculous AGW-pontificating schoolteachers have lost the ability to survive on their own merit and can only live off the frosty teet of their government Sugar Daddy.
Friedrich Nietzsche was the first to notice that religious emotions, like guilt and indignation, are still with us, even if we’re not religious. He claimed that we were living in a post-Christian world–the church no longer dominates political and economic life–but we, as a culture, are still dominated by Judeo-Christian values. And those values are not obvious–they are not the Ten Commandments or any particular doctrine, but a general moral outlook.
You can see our veiled value system better if you contrast it with the one that preceded Christianity. For the pagans, honor and pride were valued, but for the Christians it is meekness and humility; for the pagans it was public shame, for Christians, private guilt; for pagans there was a celebration of hierarchy, with superior and inferior people, but for Christians there is egalitarianism; and for pagans there was more emphasis on justice, while for Christians there is emphasis on mercy (turning the other cheek). Underneath all these values, according to Nietzsche, is a kind of psychology–one dominated by resentment and guilt.
Every culture feels the call of conscience–the voice of internal self-criticism. But Western Christian culture, according to Nietzsche and then Freud, has conscience on steroids, so to speak. Our sense of guilt is comparatively extreme, and, with our culture of original sin and fallen status, we feel guilty about our very existence. In the belly of Western culture is the feeling that we’re not worthy… All this internalized self-loathing is the cost we pay for being civilized.” (Stephen Asma)
There has been essentially no warming since 1995. We recently learned that the Roman period was far warmer than previously known–much warmer than today: the Earth essentially has been in a cooling trend for 2,000 years. It has not been a steady decline. There have been ups and downs–e.g., The Little Ice Age occurred between then and now and it lasted a few hundred years. Achtung Baby. Current temperatures are not much different today than they were in 1940. Sometimes it’s a seesaw, other times a wave and currently we are in a period of global cooling–e.g., “Arctic sea ice extent … for April 2010 was the largest for that month in the past decade” and according the the National Weather Service 2012 sets the record for the coldest July ever experienced in Anchorage, Alaska. Satellites that provide the most accurate data we have tell us the oceans are cooling and have been for more than a decade. Some scientists predict global cooling for decades more–perhaps for the next 30 to 70 years. The globe may experience another ice age before the end of the century. The Earth has been locked in ice age conditions for more than 80% of the time over the last one million years. Those are the facts. All of the rest is Leftist-lib dogma and self-loathing. Unfortunately, too many of America’s homegrown little Eichmanns and disciples of Mao and Al Gore — blinded by irrational fears of Thermageddon — have lost the ability to repress their natural instinct to tell everyone else what to think, what to do and how to live. With extreme environmentalism as their new religion, they don’t give two-schitts about the Constitution or personal liberty and responsibility.
