Ice Age vs Heat Wave vs Same Ole Same Ole

Global Warming News

Early NewsIn 1971 it was news of possible global cooling that was predicted by government scientists (the Institute for Space Studies, Goddard Space Flight Center, National Aeronautics and Space Administration). Newspapers like The Wash- ington Times and The Washington Post reported the ensuing Ice Age.

In the meantime climatists began speculating about global warming and instead of worrying about cooling 50 to 60 years off alarm was raised instead that America has been heating up the globe since the industrial revolution with disastrous consequences for all life on Earth. Recent bouts of extreme cold have left many feeling that climatists’ bona fides concering their predictive abilities have been largely exaggerated to a level of insensibility reserved for the sort of faith people normally place in witchdoctors, Tarot card readers and rainmakers. Politicians of course wish to continue funding climate change alarmism but even the New York Times apparently has better things to do with its dollars than continue to parrot the hysterical ravings of government climate change toadies and summarily closed down its environment desk last week. Some call it a shame. Some call it a scam.

“It is of course, the global warming scam, with the (literally) trillions of dollars driving it, that has corrupted so many scientists, and has carried APS [American Physical Society] before it like a rogue wave. It is the greatest and most successful pseudoscientific fraud I have seen in my long life as a physicist. Anyone who has the faintest doubt that this is so should force himself to read the ClimateGate documents, which lay it bare. (Montford’s book organizes the facts very well.) I don’t believe that any real physicist, nay scientist, can read that stuff without revulsion. I would almost make that revulsion a definition of the word scientist. So what has the APS, as an organization, done in the face of this challenge? It has accepted the corruption as the norm, and gone along with it.” ~Hal Lewis (UCSB Professor Emiritus writing APS President Curtis G. Callan, Jr., Princeton University, 6 October 2010)

It is really more than a shame. It’s a crime. The way the Left torched the constitution, the culture, the language — calling taxes revenues as if the government is actually providing value to society that anyone voluntarily pays for — and, then blaming capitalism and the productive because poverty, misery, envy and hate exist in the world is the Left’s liberal Utopian pseudophilosophy on top of their climate pseudoscience and cash-for-clunkers secular, socialist pseudoeconomics. On top of the corruption of the culture and the liberal fascism that a jihad on capitalism has brought the Left has destroyed credibility in science by abandoning the scientific method and politicizing the American education system and even the weather. How’s that for a pseudobargain?

About Wagathon

Hot World Syndrome—fear of a hotter, more intimidating world than it actually is prompting a desire for more protection than is warranted by any actual threat. A Chance Meeting– We toured south along the Bicentennial Bike Trail in the Summer of 1980, working up appetites covering ~70 miles per day and staying at hiker/biker campgrounds at night along the Oregon/California coast (they were 50¢ a day at that time). The day's ride over, and after setting up tents, hitting the showers, and making a run to a close-by store, it was time to relax. The third in our little bicycle tour group, Tom, was about 30 yards away conversing with another knot of riders and treating himself to an entire cheesecake for dinner. He probably figured Jim and I would joke about what a pig he was eating that whole pie and decided to eat among strangers. Three hours later after sharing stories and remarking on a few coincidences that turned up here and there, Tom and one of the former strangers realized they were cousins, meeting in this most unlikely place for the first time. ~Mac
