CHEERS! Common sense says, this too will pass.
Over the years many deluded societies have fallen prey to bubbles, manias, derangments and hoaxes–e.g., long ago there was the Tulip mania, the Gin bubble and the Piltdown Man hoax. Not long ago, there was the dot-com bubble, Bush derangment, the housing bubble and gold mania. Now we have the free money-free lunch-debt bubble, the global warming hoax, disruptive climate change mania, the Apple bubble and the liberal Utopian alternative energy delusion.
None of these human-caused departures from reality ever end well. Is it immoderate to suggest that the only unifying theory will be that government-funded prognosticators of global warming doom will become even more sensitive to Urban Heat Island (UHI)-corrupted data?
Saying it like it is, in a September 15, 2003 speech before the Commerce Club about environmentalism as a religion, the real challenge we face today, according to Michael Crichton, “is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda… We must daily decide whether the threats we face are real, whether the solutions we are offered will do any good, whether the problems we’re told exist are in fact real problems, or non-problems.”
Meanwhile, schizophrenic, power-mad bureaucrats look to anorexic runway divas as models of heath and demonize everything from Big Macs to Cheetos as if on a mission to save humanity from an early death and push their own silly superstitions onto the children that are held captive in classrooms of fear. By any objective standard, humanity has never had it so good. Humans died of the same maladies three thousand years ago as today — even narrowed, blocked and calcified arteries:
…vascular calcification was present in 92% of the men and 72% of the women, and present in 2 or more vascular beds in 80% of the men and 62% of the women. By the time men reached 60 years of age and the women reached 70 years of age, all had calcification in 1 or more vascular beds… Arterial calcification was also seen in the aortas and carotid arteries of these mummies. Several mummies had such diffuse generalized atherosclerosis that clinical symptoms would seem to have been likely… Our findings of frequent arterial calcification suggest that atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease was present and commonplace in ancient Egypt, raising intriguing questions regarding the nature and extent of human predisposition to the development of atherosclerosis.

How can frightening children with fears about changing climates and bad weather end well? The UHIs where all of the blue city residents exercise their ignorance and vote their fears are not going to go away. The Left will never admit they’ve been wrong about global warming or that we’ve all been had by the politicians or that academia has been corrupted nor will global warming alarmists ever take responsibility for the damage they’ve done to society. Does anyone imagine a time when Western school teachers will ever be held accountable for turning on the taxpayer, the founders, the scientific method and burning common sense at the stake? Isn’t the mainstream media’s definition of a very smart person, a secular socialist who thinks Christians and Jews are all idiots who need to be told how to think and what to do by public school teachers and Leftist politicians who should be put in charge of controlling the Earth’s climate even if it means rewriting the Constitution?
According to Philippe Verdoux (Transhumanism, Progress and the Future), “what enables and sometimes absolutely necessitates the wheels of innovation to turn is the fact that technology is not only a magnificent problem-solver but also an extremely powerful problem-generator. It is this feature of technology that opens up vast new spaces of innovation for engineers – in search of unsolved but technologically solvable problems – to explore, thereby creating the (exaggerated) impression that progressive movement towards our valued goals has been made.” What few realize — especially those on the Left — is that what the founders established in North America — that the Left wants so badly to shitcan — has been the only truly magnificent achievement of humanity in the last 1,000 years and it happened right here in America.
