Waiting for Al Gore – a Stop the World Tragicomedy

Eerie Eyes

Global warming? You’re telling me something I already understand completely! Warming is something that usually happens daily. Next you’ll warn us about climate changing.

It will take a long time to undo what the Left has done to the society and the culture. A good place to start will be a serious downsizing of the government-education complex. Has the promise of universal education turned into the theater of the absurd? Whose great idea was it to have unelected bureaucrats pushing climate porn in classrooms?

When it comes to claims by Western academia that humanity’s CO2 caused global warming (AGW), why continue to pretend there is a scientific consensus of opinion on that notion? Instead of entrusting America’s fate to a jury of school teachers, maybe we should just put the finishing touches on the Utopia of the liberal fascists which comes complete with the Leftist economics of energy rationing at government-gunpoint. The Left has already commanded that the scientific method should be hung up and forgotten and all of the followers of it so that we all can better concentrate on looking for truth in all the officially-right places.

After all of these years the Left still believes Socrates is dangerous; and, there is nothing so fearsome for the Left to contemplate than the open minds of a free people who are willing to take responsibility for their own futures — hell with official truth — and live by the creations of their own hands, wits, talents and hard work.

The Greek jurors that sentenced their fellow citizen Socrates to death for the crime of questioning the official truth knew that with the help his powerful, influential, wealthy, wise and politically connected friends — who easily could buy off the legal system and pay the necessary bribes to get out of jail — Socrates could easily flee Athens. But, Socrates refused to behave as his jurors expected when he put his love for truth above his own life and drank the state’s hemlock.

The steadfastness Socrates showed by actually obeying the laws of his peers not only was the furthest thing from the minds of the jury, his refusal to do what anyone else would be expected to do in similar circumstance was an even greater crime. Like now: America’s productive are not really expected to actually listen to the Left’s nihilism and discontinue the production of CO2 as they go about their business of living. Rather, the productive should labor on and continue to provide all of the goods and services the Left demands, all the while being blamed by the Left for working hand-in-hand with the devil against nature. The Left always wants it both ways: their way, you pay.

So, has Western science become the theater of the absurd? Sure — the Left wants us all to abandon all of the usual and rational devices we normally would use to assess our circumstances and possibilities and just do what they say. Would you drink hemlock because all your friends told you to? Does anyone seriously buy into the idea that the Left’s Drama-Queen-In-Chief, Al Gore, really gives a damn about the human condition or what you think?

Al Gore and the Left say,
Do as I say, not as I do.

About Wagathon

Hot World Syndrome—fear of a hotter, more intimidating world than it actually is prompting a desire for more protection than is warranted by any actual threat. A Chance Meeting– We toured south along the Bicentennial Bike Trail in the Summer of 1980, working up appetites covering ~70 miles per day and staying at hiker/biker campgrounds at night along the Oregon/California coast (they were 50¢ a day at that time). The day's ride over, and after setting up tents, hitting the showers, and making a run to a close-by store, it was time to relax. The third in our little bicycle tour group, Tom, was about 30 yards away conversing with another knot of riders and treating himself to an entire cheesecake for dinner. He probably figured Jim and I would joke about what a pig he was eating that whole pie and decided to eat among strangers. Three hours later after sharing stories and remarking on a few coincidences that turned up here and there, Tom and one of the former strangers realized they were cousins, meeting in this most unlikely place for the first time. ~Mac
