The Future of Global Warming

Futura“Let’s think back to people in 1900 in, say, New York. If they worried about people in 2000, what would they worry about? Probably: Where would people get enough horses? And what would they do about all the horse****?” ~Michael Crichton, Aliens Cause Global Warming: A Caltech Lecture

Shall we find those among us who demonstrate an ability to see beyond today? Shall we be trusting or skeptical of their vision and predictions?

The suspicion is in the air nowadays that the superiority of one of our formulas to another may not consist so much in its literal ‘objectivity,’ as in subjective qualities like its usefulness, its ‘elegance,’ or its congruity with our residual beliefs. ~William James

Before giving over responsibility for our lives to visionaries of climate disaster like Al Gore (see–e.g., Why Was Al Gore Given a Nobel?) we need real facts not convenient facts and not, politically-correct facts. An objective search for truth, wherever the facts may lead, may be a hard task and who but ourselves will put out all that effort for our sakes? We only place real value on ‘true’ facts that we come to know from within ourselves. Those who are so driven to look beyond what is convenient and fashionable are rightly skeptical of fads, the latest new religion or a consensus of opinion among those who hate us. (See–e.g., Does the Left Hate Our Way of Life?)

Freeman Dyson said, “any good scientist ought to be a skeptic.” Does Rajendra Pachauri, head of the IPCC, believe that? No, but interestingly, even Pachauri finally concedes there has been no global warming over the last 17 years. The problem is that global warming alarmists like Pachauri and the UN-IPCC are only skeptical of anything that conflicts with a preconceived notion that they can accurately determine the average temperature of the globe and accurately tease out a trend in the data. Their vision of the future is the only proof they need that increasing atmospheric CO2 is the proximate cause for an inexorable warming trend and believe it is a crime that humanity does not admit its guilt for the CO2 that is causing it — tipping the scales from a hunky-dory Earth to a glacier-melting, polar bear-drowning, ocean rising, specie-killing, snowless planet. (See–e.g., What’s Worse than Fake – Perhaps Worse than We Even Know and, AGW, Chaos Theory and Schrödinger’s Cat)

Power grab global warming politics has corrupted every government institution. We should remember that when the EPA declared CO2 a poison — an act that is currently under review by the US Supreme Court — that act amounted to a class action lawsuit by the Left against every productive person in the US. The EPA cast its lot with those who would lodge an indictment in the UN against all humanity. (See–e.g., How Will EPA Tilt at Daubert?)

The Left declared that Americans and all humanity were guilty until proven innocent of polluting the planet. Very Kafkaesque! We can hope the Supreme Court has the moral gumption to restore faith in the credibility of Western science but what they do should never cause us to blame people for living.

How could any reasonable person make predictions about the future climate of the Earth based on data gathered by government scientists when we know the data is quatsch? It’s not just the improper siting of official government thermometers that is a problem–e.g., “Many [official temperature instrument] sites are on or adjacent to tarmacs at airports some affected by exhaust.” ~Joseph D’Aleo

The Official government scientists already know the placement of official temperature instruments at official US stations violate the official siting guidelines. The real problem is that they don’t care. We are not supposed to be skeptical of government scientists who make adjustments to the bad raw data to make it good official data. What is more amazing is that despite climatists’ systemic corruption of data there still has been no global warming over the last 17 years. And, it shouldn’t be a surprise–e.g., as Reid Bryson said, “You can go outside and spit and have the same effect as doubling carbon dioxide.” Bryson says about CO2 that, “It’s irrelevant as to why temperature goes up.” “Of course it’s going up,” says Bryson: “It has gone up since the early 1800s, before the Industrial Revolution, because we’re coming out of the Little Ice Age, not because we’re putting more carbon dioxide into the air.”

The Left’s game plan from the beginning was to do whatever it took to quickly win the argument about humanity being the cause of global warming. Time was never the friend of the global warming movement because over time weather changes. Weather is just a subset of climate so that is why climate changes and everyone knows climate changes.

Certainly the greatest mistake of climate researchers has been giving the impression that they are declaring the definitive truth.  It’s not a bad thing to make mistakes and have to correct them. The only thing that was bad was acting beforehand as if we were infallible. By doing so, we have gambled away the most important asset we have as scientists: the public’s trust. ~Hans von Storch

The Left as done a lot of damage to the socioeconomic system. We now have an ever-growing number of voters who have become so dependent on a government grown too large to fail they refuse to care that the Left lied to the people. The rest of the world also could care less about all the time, fortune and futures that America has wasted.

Please note how trivial the anthropogenic emission is to the total CO2 flowing around the carbon cycle.

According to NASA estimates, the carbon in the air is less than 2% of the carbon flowing between parts of the carbon cycle. And the recent increase to the carbon in the atmosphere is less than a third of that less than 2%.

And NASA provides an estimate that the carbon in the ground as fossil fuels is 5,000 GtC and humans are transferring it to the carbon cycle at a rate of ~7 GtC per year.

In other words, the annual flow of carbon into the atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels is less than 0.02% of the carbon flowing around the carbon cycle.

It is not obvious that so small an addition to the carbon cycle is certain to disrupt the system because no other activity in nature is so constant that it only varies by less than +/- 0.02% per year. ~Richard Courtney

If you are bothered a little bit about all of the global warming deception, you probably are a person who is paying for it. It has been very apparent for a long time now that global warming is nothing more than a hoax and a scare tactic and that academia has been a willing accomplice in helping a liberal fascist government bureaucracy pull off a big con on the people. And, that does not bother Leftists in the slightest because global warming is not about science; it’s about politics: its just a big game played on America by the European Union of commies and all of the anti-America members of the UN.

With the past, I have nothing to do;
nor with the future. I live now. ~Emerson

About Wagathon

Hot World Syndrome—fear of a hotter, more intimidating world than it actually is prompting a desire for more protection than is warranted by any actual threat. A Chance Meeting– We toured south along the Bicentennial Bike Trail in the Summer of 1980, working up appetites covering ~70 miles per day and staying at hiker/biker campgrounds at night along the Oregon/California coast (they were 50¢ a day at that time). The day's ride over, and after setting up tents, hitting the showers, and making a run to a close-by store, it was time to relax. The third in our little bicycle tour group, Tom, was about 30 yards away conversing with another knot of riders and treating himself to an entire cheesecake for dinner. He probably figured Jim and I would joke about what a pig he was eating that whole pie and decided to eat among strangers. Three hours later after sharing stories and remarking on a few coincidences that turned up here and there, Tom and one of the former strangers realized they were cousins, meeting in this most unlikely place for the first time. ~Mac
